How Much Is Too Much For Vegemite?
How can you ever put a price on such a thing?
Well apparently the folks at “Australian Gifts and Souvenirs” in San Antonio, Texas can put a price on it – $16.95 + postage. What a bargain!
The food situation here is terrible and although he have to eat on the run a fair bit it’s hard to get something decent to eat. Breakfast has been a problem, since I’m usually a toast eater and the bread here is horrible. I asked one of the guys here about a bakery and got a really weird look. Fresh bread is unheard of it seems, instead it’s supermarket bread which is sickly sweet and full of preservatives. Back home, our fresh bread will get stale and go moldy within the week. When my bread showed no signs of mold or staleness after two weeks of sitting around in the Nevada heat, I started to get a little worried.
We’ve given a few free samples to our American and Dutch colleagues who are staying nearby, obviously with some mixed reactions. But this black gold is priceless and will ensure Tom and I survive our trip with Australiana in tact.
